Topic: “Mutual Recognition in Cross-border higher education”

Objectives: Following the success of the 1st Forum on Internationalization in Higher Education in 2017, Foreign Trade University held the 2nd Forum on Internationalization in Higher Education (FIHE2) in Hanoi on October 8th 2018, with the participation of approximately 200 delegates. With the theme: “Mutual Recognition in Cross-border higher education”, the Forum received 21 publications from authors of various universities and educational organizations in the world.

FIHE2 was an open platform for representatives of Vietnamese and international higher education institutions to connect, discuss and share experiences, ideas and solutions on mutual recognition, thereby establishing a policy system that ensured the quality of cross-border higher education which served the sustainable development of higher education.

The forum was attended by a number of ambassadors and representatives from 14 embassies, delegates from more than 50 national education agencies, universities and educational institutions in the country. At the keynote session, delegates listened to reports by three keynote speakers: (1) Prof. Dr. Ninomiya Akira, Ambassador of the University Mobility of Asia and the Pacific (UMAP); (2) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nghia – Ministry of Science and Technology, Former Deputy Director General of Quality Assurance Department, Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam; (3) Prof. Kazuko Suematsu – Deputy Director, Global Education Center, Tohoku University, Japan.

At the forum, some national and international universities signed bilateral cooperation agreements, especially in exchange for students; especially the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the Foreign Trade University (Vietnam) and the LUISS University (Italy). At 14:00 on the same day, the International Education Fair provided students with the opportunity to meet and receive face-to-face consulting with representatives from 26 domestic and international educational institutions. universities and educational organizations.
